Elfin Lakes Summer

We started around 9 am from the parking lot. I didn't know this until just a few days before but you are allowed bikes on this particular trail. Our friend brought his e-mountain bike, which made short work of the trail.

We were treated to a small waterfall only a couple of km into the trail.

Snow! The snow only increased from here. Despite our best efforts, a few of us still got quite sunburned from the reflection. The ranger had warned us at the trailhead that some people were even getting the inside of their noses sunburnt!

Despite the winter-like scenery, it was very hot that day!

Coming over the last hill, the first of two lakes come into view.

Unfortunately, the hut was closed due to covid.

Fantastic views from all of the tent pads at the site.

A refreshing end to the day's hike.
