The trail is more or less flat for the first 7km to the waterfall.

We stopped and had some snacks at the waterfall.

After the waterfall, you cross a wire bridge and continue into the valley.

We stopped and had lunch before starting the steep climb at the back of the valley.

Almost all the elevation gain on this hike is in this short section.

As we got close to the top, a fair amount of snow was still left.

The trail ends at the top of Grouse Mountain.

We stopped for beer before taking the gondola back down.

Howe Sound Crest Trail

We had actually planned to do the Howe Sound Crest Trail the weekend before and even gotten 5km into it but quit due to an unbelievable amount of bugs. You couldn't even keep your mouth or eyes open without bugs constantly flying into them. There was also still a ton of smoke from forest fires that made breathing difficult.
